Install VMWare tools in the Solarwinds N-Central server

Q: How to Install VMWare tools in the Solarwinds N-Central server

A:

1. Confirm with the SolarWinds MSP Support team that the Advanced Script option in NAC is enabled.
2. Mount the Linux ISO for VMWare Tools in your virtual machine using vCenter.

3. Log in to your MSP N-Central Administration Console (Port 10000).
4. Click Advanced Scripts.
5. Press the execute button beside Install VMWare Tools.

Once the script is done executing, it will load a page with the results of running the installer. Note: System may reboot; ensure the VMWare Tools ISO has been removed from the optical drive before rebooting the server. Failure to do so may result in the server attempting to boot from the VMWare Tools “disc”.
